Welcome to the Smart Ferroic Materials Center!

Ferroic materials are incredibly sensitive and responsive to electromagnetic excitation. They form the backbone of many semiconductor technologies in health, defense, energy, computing and telecommunication-related applications. The Smart Ferroic Materials Center (SFMC) has been created in 2024 to further the research enterprise at the University of Arkansas and develop the next generation of ferroic materials needed for novel high-speed or low-energy consumption computing and electronic hardware, sensing and actuating devices, new cooling solutions, etc. SFMC provides a unique international research environment and access to facilities through its partnership with CentraleSupélec, one of France’s top engineering school. Come work with us to make a global difference!
